If you’re feeling like you’ve lost your motivation, I have for you today 6 amazing TED talks to inspire guide and motivate. For those who don’t know, TED talks are short, power talks which cover a variety of topics. They’re very addictive and since I started watching them I have learned so many new things, from scientific information to techniques for everyday life.
The 6 TED talks in this post are some of my favourite short talks, ranging from 3 to 20 minutes, and ones that I think are enriching for the mind, particularly for young women. Whether you are a student, or simply looking for something to inspire you, these short talks will definitely teach you something new.

If you’re having trouble completing the goals that you set for yourself, you can find out why we are more motivated to accomplish our goals when we keep them to ourselves.
All it takes is 10 Mindful Minutes – Andy Puddicombe (9:17)

On Being Wrong – Kathryn Schulz (17:51)
Telling you to be wrong hardly sounds like it should be on my list of TED talks to inspire, but this is actually such an important talk, particularly for anyone who considers themselves a perfectionist. Kathryn talks about her job, where she studies “being wrong”, why it’s not a bad thing, and why we shouldn’t get stuck on “being right” on all the time.
The Power of Introverts – Susan Cain (18:56)
Where are all my introverts at? I always felt like being an introvert was something that was a disadvantage to me. After watching Susan’s talk (which is one of the most popular talks on the TED website), I felt the complete opposite. Susan explains why introverts are so important for society. It is one of the best TED talks to inspire you to embrace and nurture your introverted personality.
How to Make Stress Your Friend – Kelly McGonigal (14:25)
Kelly, a health psychologist, explains how she realised that stress wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. Since students can be so susceptible to stress, this is one of the best TED talks to inspire you to think differently about stress, and avoid it’s impacts on your everyday life.
Your Body Language Shapes Who You Are – Amy Cuddy (20:55)
If you’ve ever wondered about “power poses” like I have, this is a great talk to understand how our postures and body language can affect how we feel and act. It is super helpful for anyone who has trouble asking questions in class, or has difficulty making their voice heard in group projects.
